Spiritual Corner -- Prayer for Humbleness

Publié : Oct-11-2024

Oh, Jesus while on earth you have said, “Learn from me, for I am kind and humble. In this way, you will find the rest of your soul.” “Almighty God, seeing you humbling yourself as a slave to wash the feet of your disciples, my soul finds rest.” When I think of your words teaching us to be humble, “I am setting an example for you to follow.” “ Lord, I truly understand that these are words from your kind and humble heart, I have to rely on you to do it.”

I really have to be humble and place my will below that of my sisters. I shall not disagree with them and not to find out if they have the right to order me.” Oh my beloved Lord, no one can order you, yet you did not only obey the Virgin mother Mary and Saint Joseph, but also those who crucified you. In the Holy Eucharist, I see the pinnacle of your humbleness. Glorious King of the world, how humble you are to obey all the pastors, no matter those who love you or those who are not enthusiastic and cold , you answer their call to descend from heaven. Whether they are early or late, you await them.

My beloved Lord, hidden in the white bread, how humble you are. To teach us to be humble, you humble yourself. To respond to your love, I will place myself below all my sisters and firmly believe that it is my place.

Lord, you know how weak I am. Every morning I vow to be humble, yet in the evening I have to admit that I have committed many deeds of pridefulness. And the same time, I am tempted to be discouraged. But I know discouragement is also pride. Because of this, I can only trust in you. You are almighty, please grant me my wish to seek the virtue of humbleness from the deep of my soul. To obtain this gift of humbleness, I have to always pray, “Kind and humble Jesus, please make my heart like yours.”

Yours,
