Spiritual Corner - Through Reflections Upon the Bible and Repentance Before God

Publié : Apr-28-2023

A friend has introduced me to a very special Bible Study program. Unlike the past Bible studies that focused on sharing, this one emphasized on reflection. Through meditations on the Bible and reflections upon my life, I have discovered my weaknesses and inadequacies.

First change—Through reflection on Psalm 55:12 “If an enemy were insulting me, I can endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide.” Actually I cannot endure any insult nor would I hide from a foe. I always want to answer back and retaliate. I should try to change my de-fensive attitude of getting even.

Second change—Through reflection on Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other; or you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” One reflection is, “I have to earn bread for raising the family and children. It’s difficult to serve God wholly and only.” My reflection is that I should try to ad-just my way of life and think first about what God wants me to do.

Third change—Through Romans 9:1 “I speak the truth in Christ —My conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit…” My reflection is that I have previously spoken some white lies with good intentions for Christ’s sake, but they are still lies. I need the help of the Holy Spirit to truly face the real situation and boldly speak the truth.

Hebrews 4:12-13 says, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judg-es the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncov-ered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” This has aptly described reflection, let’s take this to heart.
