Spiritual Corner - I Believe in Life Everlasting. Amen

The ultimate goal of all our hopes and wishes is eternal life. Eternal life is the union of man with God, for God himself is the reward and the ultimate direction of all our good works: “I will protect you, and your reward will be very plentiful.”

Union with God lies in seeing Him face to face: “For now we can only see in a mirror, which is not clear; but time will come and we will see Him face to face.” Eternal life also lies in perfect praises, as it was prophesized: “There will be joy and delight, and the sounds of thanksgiving and praise.”

Eternal life lies in the complete satisfaction of human desires, for the blessed will then possess more than they have ever sought or desired. The reason is that no one can satisfy their own desires in this life, and no creature can satisfy the human heart. Only God can satisfy human desires, and infinitely surpass-es them. Therefore, without God, man will not find peace. As St. Augustine said, “You have created us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”

The visit of the relics of St. Bernadette to St. Agnes Kouying Tsao Catholic Church from August 27 to 29 this year, tells us that the happiness of eternal life is certain. The Psalm also confirms, “At your right hand are endless blessings.” Let us heed the call of Holy Mother Mary: “May all people be converted, repent of their sins, practice penance, and pray the Rosary.” When the glory of the Lord is revealed, all will finally be satisfied.
