Jesus, when Herod the evil ruler insulted You, You, the most gentle and merciful Lord, did not utter a word of defence. You did not even give him a stare with your inspiring eyes. O, most Holy Jesus, surely Herod did not deserve your favour. Yet we long for your holy glimpse. We beg that whenever we lower our eyes, you would repay us with your loving gaze.
We pray that you would not refuse to grant us this gentle glimpse, even when we fall down, as we have to count how many times we have fallen. We have to radiate a fragrance which you will not resist and for this, we are fully confident. You will see amongst these flowers how much we are longing to love you and to resemble you, and that you will bless your children.
O, Jesus, please favour us with your glimpse of love and grant us your warm caress. Amen!
Yours,
Fr. Matthew Wang
