In the heavenly home, the saints are completely immersed in God’s presence. Obviously, all their desires are fulfilled, and their glories surpass their expectations. This is why, the Lord said: “Come, enjoy the blessings of your Master!” St. Augustine explained this: “It is not perfect happiness that enters those who enjoy it, but all those who enjoy it enter into the happiness. When Your glory is manifested, I will be completely satisfied.” He also said: “He will satisfy your desires with all good things.”
In heaven there, it is filled more than abundantly with everything pleasing to the eye. In seeking happiness, where one finds supreme and perfect happiness, the Most Good God is there: “At your right hand are boundless joys.”
Eternal life lies in the gathering of the saints, each sharing all the blessings with one another, each loving the neighbor as oneself and each rejoicing in the happiness of others as if enjoying his/her own. Thus, one person's happiness and joy increases, and so does everyone else’s.
How can we, ordinary people, seek eternal life?
The Ninth day of the Dominican Novena to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, which titled: "Pray to God now and after our death," states: “Dear Lady of the Rosary, we are constantly in danger of losing God’s grace. We beseech thee to intercede with God for us, that we may always remember: the last moment of our lives determines our eternal life or eternal death. Dear Mother, please allow us to stay under your protection, be with a fervent love for Jesus, when we leave this world, and to peacefully enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen.”
Yours,
Sr. Magdalena Yang
